Date Night: Dukes for Martinis

A martini at Dukes is one of the must do experiences of London. I’m not usually a martini drinker, but these taste so delicious that they are unmissable. I know this, because I went on my first date with my now boyfriend here three years ago! We have been back since, and it is always a fabulous experience.Tucked just round the corner from the Ritz, Dukes hotel http://www.dukeshotel.com/foodanddrink-dukesbar.php is possibly the best bar in the world. The decor reminds me of a smart gentleman’s club with a bit of cutting edge design thrown in for good measure. Classically English. Alessandro, the bar man, makes you feel both an honoured guest and incredibly lucky to be there. At the moment Alessandro is offering Martini masterclasses. http://www.dukeshotel.com/foodanddrink-dukesbar-martini-masterclass.php I’m in two minds about these. On the one hand I love doing classes with my boyfriend  and I think they make a great couple’s- or indeed singles – night out. Also learning the secrets of Alessandro’s martinis would be very enlightening. On the other hand I rather like sitting stately in one of Duke’s chairs, having my crystalline martini brought to me, full to the brim.Be warned – two of these will just about have you under the table. Certainly a good place to recover from the woes of wedding planning!Enjoy! Let me know how you get on and please, if you like this idea leave a comment with your own suggestion for a great night out.xoFionaps this would make a perfect end to my previous suggestion for date night http://s514919216.websitehome.co.uk/2013/02/25/why-dont-you-have-a-date-night-off-from-wedding-planning-or-with-your-girlfriends/
